On-stage monitors is insufficient, or when other musicians to play instead, or no monitor setup time at a gig a little when the active HEAD TAP. 
Stage monitor is essential to the PA, but in some cases to PA direct headphones if you want. At that time the HEAD TAP is useful. Can be connected directly to PA, and also features a headphone output jack. You can conveniently take the headphones out quickly.
